ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER
(Permanent, full-time)

Council’s Environmental Health Officers are responsible with monitoring and ensure compliance with legislation for local businesses across the region and attend to health service requests. 

Environmental Health Officers are relied upon by Council for their quality advice and knowledge of statutory requirements, and are often called-upon by other team members for their specialised input.

To be successful in this role, you will be well-versed in the legislation required in the role (and its application), hold relevant qualifications and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role.

CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER
(Fixed-term of six-months, full-time)
  • Excellent position exposing you to the whole of Council’s operations

Customer Service Officers are the first and central point of contact for all transactions and information relating to Council’s assets and services.

They are responsible for providing high quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner, and as such - excellent customer service is key to our effective service delivery.

This role is initially based out of the Boorowa office, however, please note that you may be asked to work from different office locations as needed.

To be a successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate your experience in face-to-face customer service in a previous role (preferably in a team environment), strong administrative skills and a commitment to taking ownership for customers' issues and providing quality outcomes for them.

WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER
(Permanent, full-time)

Work Health and Safety is a key aspect of working at Hilltops Council and as WHS Officer, you will need to be a highly-motivated and skilled operator to ensure that our staff are educated and understanding of their WHS obligations as they relate to both the law and Council's internal policies and procedures.

Our staff's wellbeing is paramount and with the many large projects we have on the go at any given time, the WHS Officer is their custodian, ensuring risks are managed effectively, and that our staff are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to carry-out their duties safely.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a sound knowledge of the application of the WHS Act in a Local Government context or a background in a similar role, and you must be able to demonstrate to us both your passion for safety, and your skill in WHS Systems implementation.

We note that this role can be based out of any of our offices or works depots, in Harden, Boorowa or Young, and although the usual start location will be agreed with the successful applicant, Council can request the incumbent to commence work at other locations with reasonable notice.

PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR
(Permanent, full-time)

Council is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual, ideally with previous Local Government procurement experience, to fulfill the role of Procurement Coordinator. As a central point of contact for Council’s procurement process, you must demonstrate an understanding of probity principles and how this applies to the Local Government context when carrying out the role.

In turn, we will look to you for your tendering experience and advice to ensure the correct procurement process is upheld so the Hilltops community receives not only the appropriate goods and services, but that these are cost-effective, and are handled in the most transparent manner possible.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a solid understanding of risk management as it relates to procurement, and demonstrate the importance of why we adhere to the standards imposed on us as a Local Government entity.

We note that this role can be based out of any of our offices or works depots, in Harden, Boorowa or Young, and although the usual start location will be agreed with the successful applicant, Council can request the incumbent to commence work at other locations with reasonable notice.

This position is also offered with the option of job-share employment, should this be requested following the selection process.
