WATER & SEWER ENGINEER

(Permanent, full-time 70-hour nine-day fortnight, TRP circa $91k - $100k + potential for market allowance depending on skills & experience)

Council is seeking applications from experienced Engineers who are looking for an opportunity to utilise their knowledge of Water & Sewer in a broad setting for the benefit of our entire community.

As Water & Sewer Engineer, you will be tasked with carrying-out investigation, planning and preparation of design documents in our Water & Sewer Infrastructure space, and you will be expected to provide sound expert advice to internal and external stakeholders. This role will interface with other sections of Council, including general infrastructure, civil, assets and also our planning team, and will be relied upon as one of Council's subject matter experts in the area.

Ideally, you will demonstrate to us your experience in Water & Sewer project management and your techinical skills from previous works you've undertaken. CASUAL LIBRARY ASSISTANTS

Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals with knowledge and experience in Library and Information Services or an equivalent level of general customer service experience, to support the functioning of Council's libraries across the region.
 
Council are ideally looking to employ several staff to carry-out various library assistant roles, which will allow Council to continue its libary operations without disruption when staff are on leave, and also to allow the libraries to function on weekends.

SENIOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

  • Do you have experience in the use of telemetry and computer systems, and general experience in office administration?

Council is seeking applications from experienced wastewater treatment plant operators to fill a critical permanent vacancy in our organisation.  As Senior Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, you will be put in charge of the Young Wastewater Treatment Plant, and in the required duties, you will carry-out monitoring functions at the facility and you will be tasked with reporting and attending to any irregularities in the system as needed.

You will need to be carrying-out water testing and analysis as part of this role and you will from time-to-time, be asked to provide direction and assistance to operational staff, as well as be available to be part of Council's on-call roster from time-to-time. 

While holding a Certificate IV in Water Industry Operations is noted as a requirement, Council is willing to consider recruiting suitable candidates with a Certificate III, provided they commit to acquiring the Cert IV and demonstrate experience in activated sludge treatment.

SENIOR WORKS SUPERVISOR (Readvertised)

(Permanent, full-time 76-hour nine-day fortnight, potential for market allowance)
 

  • Are you looking for an opportunity to manage and supervise construction jobs at a senior level in a beautiful part of NSW and as part of a busy regional Council?
  • Do you have significant construction management experience and aptitude in sealed and unsealed road construction?
  • Are you committed to driving quality outcomes from projects within tight timeframes and budgets, and are you able to lead those around you in a way that encourages high performance and commitment?

Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Infrastructure team and provide high-level oversight of construction and maintenance works crews within the Young region of Hilltops Council, and, as Senior Works Supervisor, provide support to other Works Supervisors across Hilltops as needed.
 
As direct Supervisor of our Urban and Rural Site Supervisors and indirect supervisor to more than 50 staff, you will need to have exceptional leadership skills and communication skills to elevate those under your direction so that the unit and all teams work together to drive Council’s works programs.

You will need to have significant construction experience, both at an operations and supervisory level, but you must also be learned in the administrative and planning aspects of construction projects, including cost-estimating, budgeting, setting-out plans, and managing delivery timeframes. On-site, you should be a flexible leader who can adapt to change, and take responsibility for your decisions, as you will be relied upon as the central point of contact for the crew at any given time.
