I spoke to the foreman at the Young Aquatic Centre on Friday who reported that despite the rain, the project is still on track and due for completion prior to the start of the 2020-21 swimming season. Urgent short term level two water restrictions for Boorowa

Due to recent heavy rain and flooding, Council is limiting the extraction of raw water from the Boorowa River for treatment. It is therefore necessary to introduce Level 2 Water Restrictions in order for Council to be able to maintain continued supply of drinking water by reducing demand in the short term. Due to floodwater being highly turbid, the raw water being extracted from the river requires additional processing time at Council’s Water Treatment Plant to produce water to drinking quality. These restrictions will be effective from Wednesday 12 August 2020.
