Hilltops tennis courts closed

In the interest of public health Hilltops Council have closed all tennis courts in the Hilltops Local Government Area. This decision has been made following the latest Federal Government announcement to prevent gatherings of more than 2 persons in a location. Further, the public health need for hand washing and sanitising cannot be met at these facilities.

How to make a payment during Council’s Customer Service Office Closures

Hilltops Council are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, their families and our community. Council have taken various proactive measures to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 as well as ensuring that all directives by the NSW Government are implemented. One such measure has been the temporary closure of our Customer Service Offices.

Nearly a month has passed since Hilltops Council welcomed new General Manager Anthony O'Reilly. Anthony and his family came from the challenges of bushfires and floods in the coastal Eurobodalla Shire to a contrasting environment here. We all say a very warm welcome to the whole O'Reilly family. Since arriving Anthony has made immediate big decisions on helping steer Hilltops region through the COVID - 19 virus pandemic. This is what I call starting on the run because I believe the Hilltops region has to get more tuned into the advice of all our National and State leaders and health authorities to minimise the spread of the coronavirus.

Hilltops Playgrounds and Skateparks closed

The NSW Government has issued a Public Health Order for the closure of all playgrounds and skateparks. Accordingly, the playgrounds and skateparks across the Hilltops Local Government Area will be closed, effective immediately, until further notice.

Council facilities unable to host ANZAC Day commemorations

Hilltops Council regret that, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, they are unable to facilitate the utilisation of Council facilities including the Young Town Hall for ANZAC Day commemorations.

2020 Council elections postponed due to COVID-19 crisis

To provide certainty to councils, communities and potential candidates, the NSW Government has made the decision to postpone the September 2020 local government elections in the face of the COVID-19 crisis until September 2021.

COVID-19 update regarding Caravan Parks

The NSW Government has issued a Public Health Order for the closure of all caravan parks and camping grounds. Accordingly, the Boorowa and Harden Caravan Parks will be closed except for accommodating permanent residents of either caravan park or any persons who have no other place of permanent residence. These rules also apply to camping grounds whereby they can only be occupied by those with no permanent residence.

Drought, Bushfires and Covid-19, the triple whammy.  Experts from across the NSW Government have been brought together under one roof to lead the States coordinated, emergency response. Experts from more than 20 critical agencies including Police, Education, Transport and Local Government have joined NSW Health in the State Emergency Operations Centre at the RFS Headquarters in Homebush.

Temporary reduction in the number of public amenities open

  Hilltops Council are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, their families, our community and visitors. That is why, from close of business today, Wednesday 25 March, we will be closing some of the public amenities across the Hilltops Region. These closures will help protect our community by restricting the spread of COVID-19 and allow Council staff to twice daily clean and sanitise the public amenities that remain open.
