The finish to the year can only be described as disappointing, with the resignation of the GM followed by a No-Confidence motion in the Mayor at the November meeting when a fellow Councillor was absent. Neither of which is a good look to outside observers. Clearly there is disenchantment by both staff and Councillors.

Boorowa sewer construction

Council will commence sewer upgrade works along the laneway linking Queen Street and Pudman Street. There will be some interrupted access to the rear of properties during the works. The contractor, TWSe are responsible for the works will be in contact with effected residents.

Urgent short term level two water restrictions for Young

Due to unexpected repair works carried out by our bulk supplier, teamed with extreme demand placed on our system, level 2 water restrictions are now effective in Young.It is expected that these restrictions will be short term, until works are complete.

Level 3 water restrictions for Boorowa

Following prolonged dry times and in accordance with the Boorowa Drought Management Plan, Hilltops Council have implemented Level 3 water restrictions in Boorowa.  These restrictions are necessary to manage continuity of water supply due to the dry outlook over the summer months.

Young Aquatic Centre stage 1 upgrade complete

Council has completed stage 1a of the Young Aquatic Centre upgrade, with the Young Aquatic Centre accepting its first users over the weekend. The project was scheduled for completion on 20 December 2019.

In accordance with Part 6, Section 137 of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005, Hilltops Council have implemented Level 1 water restrictions in Harden and Young.  These restrictions are necessary to manage continuity of water supply due to low rainfall in the catchment area and a dry outlook with the majority of NSW in drought
