The activity is part of the 2020 Hilltops Spring Marketing Campaign launched in response to COVID-19 restrictions which means that both the Boorowa Irish Woolfest and Harden Kite Festival will not be held in their traditional formats this year.
Hilltops Council will host the virtual market on the @HilltopsRegion Instagram page and participation is only open to Hilltops region businesses, both those with and without a shop front. As market hosts, Council will widely promote the virtual markets to stimulate economic activity in the region.
The markets are scheduled to run from 9:30am on Saturday 3 October until 4pm on Monday 5 October 2020.
Hilltops Council General Manager Mr Anthony O’Reilly urges all Hilltops businesses to become involved.
“We are hoping to see between 50 and 80 businesses participating in the first ever Hilltops Region Virtual Market. The more participation we get from local businesses the more successful the initiative will be.”
“Council understands the pressure that is being felt across the Hilltops Region’s business community and we want to help. This is a great way to showcase our region and boost the local economy in a COVID safe way,” Mr O’Reilly shared.
Applications for the markets are open to all Hilltops Region businesses.
