Learn CPR, supervise and teach all children to swim from an early age;

Check latching devices regularly to ensure they are correctly operating;

Check all gates are self-closing and self-latching, replace faulty parts and spray the hinges with lubricating oil often;

Check fencing panels regularly for wear, tear and correct gaps. Check fence bolts, screws etc to ensure they are all in a tight and good condition;

Check there is 90 centimetres clear of trees, toys, ladders, chairs, shrubs etc to ensure a “non-climbable” zone of the swimming pool;

Check you have the latest version of the resuscitation warning sign visible in your pool area.
