Community members and ratepayers across New South Wales are invited to take part in an important conversation about future local council rates by joining the upcoming online Ratepayer and Community Workshop on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Hosted by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART), the workshop will provide an overview of IPART’s role in setting the annual rate peg, which limits the amount councils can increase general income from rates each year. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how the rate peg is determined and the methodology behind it.
This is also a key opportunity for the community to ask questions, share feedback, and help inform the Tribunal when it makes its decision on the 2027-28 rate peg.
Registrations are now open. To participate in the workshop, please register via: https://events.humanitix.com/ipart-community-and-ratepayer-online-workshop
Your input will help ensure the rate peg reflects the needs and expectations of NSW communities.
