The meeting on Tuesday, November 6 will kick off at 6pm at the Harden Country Club with the Open Business Forum commencing at 6.10 and concluding 6.55 pm. The idea behind the Forum is to provide the business community with the opportunity to interact with the committee and other business people.
Chair of the Committee, Elke Cleverdon, described the Open Forum as a way for the business community to elevate Economic Development ideas and comments directly to Council through Council’s Economic Development Committee. “The existing Hilltops business community is the foundation for the future growth of our whole region. It is important to provide avenues for them to have direct dialogue with Council on what matters to them in business and to identify areas where Council can be of assistance to overcome obstacles to economic growth, and importantly put in place strategies to help the business community to prosper.”
“The Open Business Forums are an initiative coming from the Hilltops Economic Action Plan adopted by Council earlier this year and it is hoped they will become a regular feature of future meetings of the Economic Development Committee,” Mrs Cleverdon concluded.
