Hilltops Libraries and Visitor Information Centres to reopen

May 26, 2020

In response to the Federal Government’s three-step framework for a COVID safe Australia, Council is pleased to announce that our libraries and Visitor Information Centres will be reopening to the public next Monday 1 June 2020.

Each library and Visitor Information Centre will have hand sanitising stations, sneeze guards, social distancing markers and signage in place prior to reopening.  Staff will be limiting the number of visitors allowed in each facility to allow for 4 square metres per person. Our libraries will be enforcing 24 hour quarantine of returned items.

“We thank everyone for their patience during the time they have been unable to utilise our fantastic libraries and Visitor Information Centres. Our staff are very much looking forward to being able to open the doors and provide their services in a face to face environment once again. There are a number of safety measures in place to ensure the safety of our staff, residents and visitors. I ask everyone to follow direction regarding hygiene and social distancing carefully so that we can keep our services open and operating,” said Hilltops Council General Manager Anthony O’Reilly.
