Koorawatha Village Plan

Hilltops Council, in partnership with the Koorawatha Progress Association, would like to thank the Koorawatha community for their participation in the Koorawatha Village Planning process.

The Koorawatha Village Plan 2025 has been developed through consultation with the community, which included community meetings, a village survey, and Council representatives attending Koorawatha Progress Association meetings. A copy of the plan is available here

The Koorawatha Village survey was conducted from 31 August 2024 to 1 November 2024, with the results forming the fundamental purpose of the plan: to provide a functional document that provides insight and guidance to the local community. A document to be used in progressing and developing their village, while encouraging and supporting their potential and economic viability.

A total of 39 surveys were received, with 163 items raised as things people loved, and improvements the community would like to see.

The outcome of the survey and consultation was a table of actions, with an identified lead group or individual, and a final table of actions for future consideration (should a lead be identified), for inclusion in the village plan. The plan includes information on the village’s economy, demographics, and history.

The draft Koorawatha Village Plan 2025 was presented at the July Ordinary Council Meeting, and was exhibited for 28 days.

The final village plan was adopted by Council at the 22 October 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting with resolution 15/2025.

The Koorawatha Village Plan presents a snapshot of the Village as it exists in 2025, and includes commentary from the people of Koorawatha on what they love about their village, what improvements they would like to see, and where they see their village in the future.
