Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund: Applications Opening Soon
Community groups are invited to apply for support through the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund, which opens to applications on Monday 1 July 2024. This fund, now in its second year, aims to distribute the financial benefits of the Bango Wind Farm among not-for-profit organisations, associations, and clubs that contribute positively to the local community.
Bango Wind Farm is located 14km south of Boorowa and 30km north of Yass. It is the third largest operational wind farm in NSW. The 244MW wind farm produces enough electricity to power 144,000 homes, preventing 543,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
The Bango Community Enhancement Fund Committee has been tasked with reviewing all applications and determining the most effective allocation of funds to benefit communities surrounding the wind farm.
Eligible organisations with projects located within a 20km radius of the wind farm are invited to apply for grants from the fund.
