To support local businesses and to assist the Hilltops economy in recovering from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic crisis, Hilltops Council is preparing a new Economic Development Strategy that will focus on supporting economic activity and stimulating growth in the Hilltops region over the next five years.
Council understands the crucial role the community plays in revitalising the region and invites residents, business owners, and stakeholders to actively participate in shaping this strategy. By sharing your insights, you contribute to the formulation of a comprehensive plan to support economic well-being and enhance the quality of life in the Hilltops community.
Key Objectives of the Economic Development Strategy:
- Support local businesses facing challenges such as reduced sales, supply chain disruptions, and staffing issues.
- Provide a framework for growth and attract new investments, residents, and skilled staff.
- Address the unique economic challenges and opportunities within the Hilltops region.
The Hilltops Community can contribute to the formation of the new Economic Development Strategy by attending an Economic Development Strategy Workshop:

Alternatively, the community is encouraged to complete the Economic Development Strategy Survey. The online survey is an opportunity to share your perspectives on the region’s needs and potential prospects. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The new Economic Development Strategy will be developed in consultation with Jenny Rand, an industry expert with over thirty years of experience in tourism, hospitality, recreation, planning, and property sectors at local, regional, and state levels.
