Hilltops Youth Week 2023 Continues

Youth Week has begun in the Hilltops and the Hilltops Youth Action Group’s program is jampacked full of events for youth of all ages to enjoy. The program will be running until Saturday 29 April 2023 and has already seen the completion of several successful events.  

The Skate Day by Totem Skateboarding in Boorowa was a great success, facilitators demonstrated their skills as well as mentored youth in attendance. A Teen Theatre Drama Workshop took place in Young and was well attended by creatives. Harden’s Hard Rock Gym was also home to a ‘Sweat Session’ free to attend with special guest Steph Cooke MP.  

More events are scheduled over the coming days, highlights including: 

  • Young Bike Workshop and Trail Ride – Friday 21 April. Free all day workshop focusing on mixed ability trail rides, mechanical skills and rider safety. Lunch provided by the Rapid Relief Team. This event is for youth over the age of 12. Places are limited so please register to secure your place. The ride will begin at 9am from the rear gate at Young High School.  
  • Youth Movie Screening of Dungeons and Dragons (M) – Monday 24 April. Held at the Southern Cross Cinema – Young. Free movie tickets available for youth over the age of 15 – walk-ins welcome. $10 return shuttle bus from Boorowa and Harden available. Bus booking required.  
  • Boorowa Escape Room Afternoon – Wednesday 26 April. Skill level – intermediate. $5 team entry, teams must consist of 3-4 people. Event will run from 2pm to 5pm at Shauns Fresh, Boorowa. Group bookings required.  
  • Harden Youth Disco – Friday 28 April. Free entry, live DJ Will Crisp and bucking bull entertainment. Theme: 90s decade. $10 return shuttle bus from Boorowa and Young available. Bus booking required. Must be over the age of 13.  
  • Youth Markets and Busking Competition – Saturday 29 April. Youth run stalls and youth busking competition, in addition to the Young Farmers Markets. The Hilltops Youth Action Group are looking for youth stallholders and buskers to participate. If you are a creative or young entrepreneur please register via our website. Registration is needed prior to stall set-up and busking competition.
