New COVID-19 compliance measures and grants for business

New COVID-19 compliance measures are to come into effect from Monday 12 July and Hilltops businesses are advised that the use of the Service NSW QR code will be mandatory at all workplaces and retail businesses.

Businesses will need to display the Service NSW QR code and take reasonable steps to ensure people entering their premises check-in using the Service NSW QR codes or digital sign-in sheet.
Businesses can find the application form and more information at part of ongoing measures to support business that have been impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions which commenced on 26 June the NSW Government has announced a new grant program for small businesses across NSW.Three different grant amounts will be available for small businesses depending on the decline in turnover experienced during the restrictions – $10,000 for a 70 per cent decline, $7000 for a 50 per cent decline and $5000 for a 30 per cent decline.
The Hospitality and Tourism COVID-19 Support Grant is a new grant program for tourism or hospitality businesses across NSW that have been impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions that commenced on 26 June 2021.

Grants between $5,000 and $10,000 will be available depending on the decline in turnover experienced during the restrictions.

Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers can now be used for takeaway from eligible and registered Dine businesses during the COVID-19 restriction period that commenced on 26 June 2021.

Delivery direct to the home by the restaurant or café is recommended. Food may be picked up from a venue but check-in with a QR code is required. Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers cannot be redeemed for takeaway using third-party delivery platforms.

The Dine & Discover NSW initiative has been extended until 31 August 2021 to allow people more time to use their vouchers.

In the Hilltops more than 20 businesses including: Barnesstore Emporium and Café (Murrumburrah), Juicy Lucy’s Café (Young), Urban Retreat (Young), Subway (Young), The Australian Hotel (Young), Young Federation Motor Inn, Rappjam Catering (Young Services Club), Tikka ‘N’ Talk (Young), Elevation ll Café (Young), The Absolutely Superb Bibliotheque and Occasional Wine Bar (Boorowa), McDonald’s (Young), Southern Cross Cinema (Young), Light Horse Hotel (Murrumburrah), Harden Country Club, Boorowa Courthouse Hotel, Hotel Koorawatha, Jugiong Motor Inn, No. 19 Bistro (Young Golf Club), Young Mandarin Court (Young), Boorowa Ex-services and Citizens Club and Boorowa Hotel signed up for Dine and Discover NSW initiative.

Fee waivers for small business have also been announced with the NSW Government announcing an optional deferral of payroll tax payments due in July 2021 and the deferral of hotel June quarter gaming machine tax, with the Chief Commissioner of State Revenue able to provide for appropriate repayment arrangements on a case by case basis.
