The Draft Murrumburrah Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan was received and endorsed by Council for public exhibition at its July 2020 Ordinary Meeting. The public exhibition will run for 28 days, commencing Tuesday 4 August 2020 until Monday 31 August 2020.
The studies assist with planning for and managing the risk the community faces from flooding.
Council is seeking feedback from the community on the draft report and study. The reports and supporting information can be viewed on Council’s website or hard copies can be viewed at the Harden Library and Council’s Administration Offices in Boorowa and Young.
The studies included the development of computer models that identify the likelihood and extent of flooding in Murrumburrah and Harden, and investigated a range of measures to mitigate and manage flood risk now and into the future. The recommended measures include physical infrastructure such as drainage upgrades, as well as improvements to planning and development control and emergency response management.
Council welcomes written submissions from the community regarding the Draft Murrumburrah Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan until 5.00pm Monday 31 August 2020. Submissions can be:
- Emailed to submissions@hilltops.nsw.gov.au or mailed to Council at Locked Bag 5, Young NSW 2594; or
- Hand delivered to Council’s Administration Offices in Boorowa, Harden or Young.
