Community groups are invited to apply for funding through the Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund, has now closed.
2025 Application Information
Hilltops Council and Tilt Renewables, which owns and operates the wind farm, established the Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund, to share the financial benefits of the wind farm with not-for-profit groups, associations, and clubs that make a positive difference and lasting contribution to communities near the Rye Park Wind Farm.
A total of $164,942 is available in this year’s grant round. The fund aims to support local projects and organisations that contribute to the betterment of the regional community throughout the operational life of the wind farm.
A Rye Park Community Enhancement Fund Committee has been established to assess all applications and help determine the best allocation of funds for communities surrounding the wind farm.
To be eligible for funding, organisations must be located within a 20km radius of the Rye Park Wind Farm, which is situated north of Yass and east of Boorowa, on the edge of the Southern Tablelands and the South-West Slopes near the township of Rye Park. Applications close at midnight on Thursday, 30 October 2025.
Rye Park Wind Farm entered full operations in late 2024. Tilt Renewables is proud to own and operate the wind farm, located north of Yass and east of Boorowa, New South Wales, on the edge of the Southern Tablelands and the South-West Slopes near the township of Rye Park. The project area spans the Hilltops, Upper Lachlan and Yass Valley local government areas. Rye Park Wind Farm consists of 66 Vestas turbines. These offset the emissions of more than 960,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, equivalent to removing 300,000 cars from the road. The Wind Farm has an annual energy output of 1,188GWh equivalent to powering 215,000 homes. Rye Park Wind Farm contributes to the local community, supplying power to Cadia Gold Mine, a significant regional employer, as well as directly powering NSW customers through AGL.
