The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has commenced a Statewide Community Participation Plan today on 1 September 2026 which introduces standardised exhibition timeframes for planning functions across NSW.
Timeframes in Council’s Community Participation Plan will no longer apply, however Council will continue to use these documents to set out engagement methods for planning functions until new engagement strategies are prepared.
Savings and transitional provisions apply to development applications and other planning applications lodged before 1 September 2026, with the exhibition requirements and timeframes in force at the time of lodgement continuing to apply to those applications.
