Temporary closure of Bundarbo Bridge Jugiong

As part of the Federal Government’s Bridges Renewal Program, Hilltops Council are contracting geotechnical investigations to inform designs for a replacement of the Bundarbo Bridge. To allow for these investigations to safely take place Bundarbo Bridge will be closed from 5pm Friday 31st May until late Sunday 2nd June.

What works are being undertaken

Councils geotechnical specialists will be undertaking necessary environmental testing to inform the design of the bridge and road upgrade. As part of this a series of boreholes will be drilled on and around the existing bridge. To allow these works to be undertaken safely it is required that Bundarbo Bridge is closed during part of the works.

How will this affect you

The investigation work on Bundarbo Road will commence Tuesday 28 May, weather permitting. Traffic control will not be required until 8am Friday 31 May. Full bridge closure of Bundarbo Bridge over the Murrumbidgee River will commence 5pm Friday 31 May. Expected re-opening of the bridge is scheduled for 5pm Sunday 2 June.

Emergency Services

The bridge is capable of being reopened to allow for access by emergencies services in the event of an emergency. During the closure please contact Alexandra Radulovich (Douglas Partners) on 0423 792 364 to arrange for emergency access.

Alternative access and traffic changes

Alternative access between Jugiong and Adjungbilly will be through Gobarralong Road for the period of the closure. Signage will be erected informing motorists of the closure and detour route during the closure. No further Traffic Changes will result from the works.
