Hilltops Council advises residents, businesses and motorists that essential maintenance works will be undertaken to prune, fertilise and spray the roses located within the centre median of Neill Street, Harden.
The works are scheduled to be carried out over two stages:
Stage 1:
Tuesday, 21 July to Friday, 24 July 2026
· Neill Street closed between Station Street and East Street
Stage 2:
Monday, 27 July to Friday, 31 July 2026
· Neill Street closed between East Street and Stair Street.
Note: work will pause over the weekend before recommencing on Monday, 27 July 2026.
To safely complete the works, one side (carriageway) of Neil Street will be temporarily closed at a time, while the opposite side remains open. Once work has been completed on one side of the road, the closure will move to the opposite side before progressing to the next section of Neil Street. The duration of each carriageway closure will depend on work progress and site conditions, and as such, the timing of each stage may vary.
To ensure the safety of workers and the public, traffic management will be in place throughout the works. Residential vehicle access will be maintained, with on-site traffic controllers assisting residents to safely enter and exit their properties as required.
Pedestrian access will remain available throughout the works, with footpaths remaining open to allow continued access to local businesses and properties. Traffic management personnel, including a dedicated spotter where required, will be on site to assist pedestrians and residents.
Motorists are asked to follow all signage and directions provided by traffic controllers and to allow additional travel time where necessary.
