PUBLIC EXHIBITION - DRAFT MURRINGO VILLAGE PLAN

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday 10 December 2025, the Council endorsed the draft Murringo Village Plan to be placed on public exhibition.

SUBMISSIONS

Any person may make a written submission to Council on the Draft Murringo Village Plan. Submissions must be received by Council no later than 5pm, Wednesday 4 February 2026. Submissions can be lodged via the MAKE A SUBMISSION HERE button above or:

  • Via email to mail@hilltops.nsw.gov.au
  • In writing to the General Manager Hilltops Council, Locked Bag No. 5, Young NSW 2594
  • In person, your written comments can be provided to the customer service teams at Boorowa, Harden and Young administration offices.

DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS ON PUBLIC EXHIBITION

Council has received the following Development Applications. Hilltops Council is the consent authority for these applications.

  • DA2025/0231: Subdivision (17 Lot) and new road (submissions close prior to close of business 1 February 2026)
  • DA47/1997-01: MAGNESITE MINE (MODIFICATION to realign the approved Mine West boundaries to include areas used to stockpile resources, amend the approved final landform and rehabilitation requirements of Mine West and Mine South and administrative amendments) (submissions close prior to close of business 13 February 2026)
  • DA117/06-1: Glenella Quarry (MODIFICATION to increase the approved extraction rate from 200,000 tpa to 499,000 tpa, increase daily product dispatch from 35 laden trucks to 50 laden trucks and amend conditions to accord with the NSW Noise Policy for Industry 2017) (submissions close prior to close of business 20 February 2026)

In accordance with Council’s Community Participation Plan, Development Applications and accompanying documents are available for public inspection on the NSW Planning Portal.

Please note that information collected by Council in relation to Development Applications including public submissions on Development Applications, is open access information that can be obtained by members of the public under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Most of the information collected by Council can be accessed via this Act and in accordance with Council’s Privacy Management Plan.

Hilltops Council seeks community input and feedback on a range of issues. Stakeholder engagement is an important element of the Council decision-making process.

Comments and submissions must be made in writing so they can be considered by Council. Comments can only be considered as formal submissions if the author’s details are included.

Please note that written submissions may be made public as part of a report to a Council meeting.

Several items can be open for public comment at the same time, submissions must clearly specify which topic is being addressed.

Submitted requests are directly referred to the appropriate staff member, resulting in requests being actioned faster.
