Hilltops Council Scholarship Program – Applications Now Open!

Are you a secondary or tertiary student living in the Hilltops Local Government Area? Hilltops Council invites you to apply for the Hilltops Council Scholarship Program, an annual initiative established under Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993 to support the educational success of local students.

Each year, Council provides financial assistance to help students cover essential educational expenses—ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Scholarships are awarded across a range of categories and are designed to empower students as they continue their studies, develop new skills, and pursue future career pathways.

What Can the Scholarship Help With?

Funds received through the Hilltops Council Scholarship Program may be used to support a wide variety of education‑related costs, including:

  • Tuition or course fees
  • Laptop, iPad, or other learning devices
  • Study‑related software, printer, stationery, and textbooks
  • School or training uniforms and equipment
  • Camps, excursions, or study‑related travel
  • Study furniture such as desks, chairs, or lamps
  • Face‑to‑face or online tutoring
  • Travel expenses associated with study

Whether you’re beginning high school, attending university, learning a trade, or pursuing vocational training, this scholarship can help lighten the financial load so you can focus on achieving your goals.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit a completed prescribed application form, available HERE or at any Council office. All applications, including required supporting documents, must be emailed to: submissions@hilltops.nsw.gov.au by the designated closing date and time.

To give your application the best chance of success, please provide as much detail as possible so Council can thoroughly assess your eligibility, needs, and educational aspirations.

2025-2026 Hilltops Council Financial Assistance and Sponsorship Program has now closed.

Under section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993 Hilltops Council once a year calls for applications from community organisations who are seeking financial assistance or sponsorship from Council.

Our annual Financial Assistance and Sponsorship program provides funding to eligible community groups and organisations with the aim to maximise community connections, and improve the function and sustainability of community projects/events and facilities.

This program is run each year to provide financial assistance to organisations to help deliver local initiatives that make a positive contribution to our community.

All applications and supporting information must be submitted to Council on the prescribed forms which are available below and at Council offices, and be submitted to submissions@hilltops.nsw.gov.au by the designated closing time and date to be considered.

When submitting an application please supply as much information as possible so that Council is able to assess your application to its full potential.
