Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2025-26 BANGO WIND FARM COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT FUND

Community groups are invited to apply for support through the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund, which opens to applications on Monday 1 July 2025.

The fund will contribute $77,920 this year and is designed to share the financial benefits of the wind farm with not-for-profit community groups and organisations, associations, and clubs that make a positive difference and lasting contribution to communities near the Bango Wind Farm.

The Bango Community Enhancement Fund Committee has been appointed and is tasked with reviewing all applications and determining the most effective allocation of funds.

Eligible organisations with projects located within a 20km radius of the wind farm are invited to apply for grants from the fund. Applications close at 5:00 pm on Monday 28 July.

Key dates include:

  • Monday 1 July 2025 – Applications open
  • Monday 28 July 2025 – Applications close
  • Thursday 28 August 2025 – Successful applicants will be notified

If successful, please dowload the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund Acquittal Form and follow the submission instructions within.

    By investing in these diverse projects, the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund aims to leave a legacy and contribute to the wellbeing and sustainable development of the Hilltops region.

    Bango Wind Farm is located 14km south of Boorowa and 30km north of Yass. It is the third largest operational wind farm in NSW. The 244MW wind farm produces enough electricity to power 144,000 homes and prevent 543,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
