Authorised by Anthony O’Reilly

Council is pleased to announce that works on the new Bundarbo Bridge in Jugiong will commence in early October 2021, weather permitting.

The overall project consists of a new bridge across the Murrumbidgee River which will be built approximately nine meters downstream from the existing bridge on Bundarbo Road, Jugiong.

The new bridge is 8.7 metres wide and 105 metres long and will be a dual carriage bridge.

Once the new bridge and road approaches have been completed the old bridge will be closed to traffic and demolished.

There may be some short traffic delays at times throughout construction, with traffic control in place.

This project is co-funded by the Australian Government, under the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program and Bridges Renewal Program, and Hilltops Council.

Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram said “It is great to see progress on another bridge project within the Hilltops. I thank the Australian Government for their support of this project to improve safety and productivity. This project will significantly enhance freight movements and result in greater connectivity within the Hilltops and across the region.”
