Council receives income as part of the voluntary planning agreement made between the Galong Mine operators and (the previous) Council. A staged priority listing of community projects is required to ensure these funds are allocated formally with suitable input from the Galong community.
The draft Masterplan presented to Council has been prepared after a community consultation process. This process has indicated several projects that were seen as a priority for the community. Those identified priority projects including playground and BBQ area, shared paths and village beautification have been included in the draft Masterplan.
Mayor Brian Ingram invites the Galong community to take the time to review the Masterplan ‘The Draft Masterplan is currently on display and we invite comment from the community to ensure that their priorities for the village have been captured in the plan,’ he said.
The Galong Masterplan is available to view on Council’s website https://www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au/Council/About-the-council/Draft-Polices-Procedures-on-Display.aspx
Copies are also available at Hilltops Council Offices. Submissions are to be received in writing or via email to submissions@hilltops.nsw.gov.au with ‘Galong Masterplan’ in the subject line. Submissions must be received by Thursday 28 March 2019.
