As the festive season approaches, we enjoy the Christmas spirit with family and friends. This season also presents an opportunity to support our local businesses and showcase our region’s food, wine, and attractions to visitors.
While we celebrate, let’s not forget those who may be less fortunate and unable to spend this time with loved ones. A simple gesture of kindness can make a big difference.
For many, the holiday period involves significant travel. If you’re hitting the road, please prioritise safety. Take extra care behind the wheel, schedule regular breaks to stretch your legs, enjoy a coffee, or even have a quick nap if you’re on a long journey. Let’s all do our part to ensure everyone arrives safely at their destinations.
I want to express my gratitude to the staff of Hilltops Council for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. As Councillors, we understand that the decisions we make impact our staff, and we remain committed to supporting the work they do.
I’d also like to congratulate our new Councillors who have embraced the challenges of their first two months, navigating inductions, workshops, and Council meetings with enthusiasm and teamwork. I look forward to all that we will achieve together in the coming year.
