Replacement of Brial Street Causeway

Council have secured funding under the Local Roads Community Infrastructure Program Round Two to replace the Brial Street Causeway in Boorowa. The causeway will be replaced with culverts to reduce the number of times the road is closed due to flooding.

In order to complete the work in a short timeframe, Council will be closing Brial Street on Monday 18 October 2021 for approximately three weeks, depending on weather conditions.

In this time, there will be no access from Lachlan Valley Way over the causeway, with detours in place along Pudman Street to Court Street and onto Brial Street.  There will still be access to Dr Kelf Park for walkers and those stopping to use the amenities. Walking paths will remain open. The site will be fenced and signposted to ensure public safety.

Council thanks motorists for their patience and look forward to the road reopening with improved safety and benefits for the community.
