Collection of outstanding rates and charges 

Council have recently issued a number of letters of demand for outstanding rates, water and other charges. These letters have been issued in accordance with the Local Government Act and the Hilltops Debt Recovery Policy. 

Council have not undertaken steps to recover outstanding charges since 12 May 2016 and have now commenced this process through an external agent in accordance with normal business activities. 

If you have a payment arrangement that was put in place on or after 1 July 2020 this arrangement remains valid. Any arrangements made before 1 July 2020 will require a new written arrangement to be made.

A Rates Arrangement Form can be found on the Hilltops Council website: https://www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au/council/hilltops-council-forms/#ratesandcharges

 (under the Rates and Charges section) to make a request for a payment plan.
