With Boorowa, Harden and Jugiong swimming pools set to open for the 2026/27 season next Saturday, 14 November, Hilltops Council is advising residents of updated operating hours across its public swimming facilities, with some changes aimed at better accommodating school swimming programs and providing earlier public access.
Previously, some school programs commenced before general public opening hours, creating challenges with scheduling and access to facilities.
The revised arrangements aim to better balance the needs of school programs, swimming clubs and organised exercise groups while maintaining opportunities for community members to enjoy the facilities.
The operating hours for each facility are outlined below, including early morning swim sessions at selected pools and extended weekday opening hours during the peak summer period from 28 December 2026 to 31 January 2027.

Council recognises the value of evening swimming for working families, swimming clubs and community exercise groups, particularly in a rural region where work and family commitments can extend well beyond traditional business hours.
To accommodate swimming clubs and organised exercise groups, Council will continue working with program organisers through agreed booking arrangements. This may include access outside general public opening hours, where appropriate and subject to staffing and supervision requirements.
Council will also monitor facility usage and consider community feedback when reviewing future operating arrangements to help ensure its aquatic facilities continue to meet the needs of local communities.
