Hilltops Council advises residents and motorists that kerb and gutter construction works will commence on Petticoat Lane, Young from Monday, 1 June 2026, with works expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The works are being undertaken to improve drainage, road infrastructure and overall streetscape conditions within the area.
To safely complete the works, temporary traffic changes will be in place during construction hours. Petticoat Lane will be closed to southbound traffic between 26–30 Petticoat Lane, with northbound traffic only permitted through the work area while works are underway.
Motorists travelling southbound are advised to use Back Creek Road and approach Petticoat Lane from the southern end of the work area where required. Traffic control and signage will be in place to assist motorists and pedestrians during the works.
Council appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation while these important improvement works are carried out.
Access to properties will be maintained during the project. However, some temporary parking and access changes will apply for nearby residents.
Planned works are subject to change due to Council resources and weather conditions.
Traffic control measures will be in place, and minor delays may be experienced. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, obey signage, and be aware of workers on foot when travelling through work sites.
