Waste Strategy- Have your Say

Apr 12, 2018

Council have engaged consultants to develop a new Waste Strategy for the Hilltops region to ensure that Council can put in place long-term solutions to resource recovery, recycling and waste management.

Council have engaged consultants to develop a new Waste Strategy for the Hilltops region to ensure that Council can put in place long-term solutions to resource recovery, recycling and waste management.

In March, the consultants met with members of the community, and presented information regarding the current waste management practises in Hilltops and to understand why change is needed.

The presentation provided by the Consultants is now available on Council’s website, along with an online Survey Form.

“How waste services are delivered is something that affects everyone, so I certainly encourage the community to read through the presentation and submit their feedback to help put this new strategy together,” Mayor Ingram said.

“We want the community to be part of the conversation in shaping the future of resource recovery and waste management practises in the Hilltops. Many residents have already put forward their thoughts, issues and ideas through the recent community consultations in developing the Community Strategic Plan, and those comments will also be forwarded to the consultants.”

Copies of the presentation and printed copies of the form are also available at Council Offices. Surveys need to be completed and submitted by 23 April.
