WORKS ENGINEER - YOUNG (Readvertised)

(Permanent, full-time 70-hour nine-day fortnight + potential for market allowance of up to $10k p.a. + optional lease-back vehicle)

  • Are you looking to manage and provide overall coordination delivery of construction and maintenance programs and service provision in a beautiful part of NSW and as part of a busy regional Council? 

  • ​​Do you have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with a minimum five (5) years' relevant experience or undertaking study towards a Civil Engineering qualification with substantial Local Government or relevant experience?

  • Are you committed to driving quality outcomes from projects within tight timeframes and budgets, and are you able to lead those around you in a way that encourages high performance and commitment?

  • Do you have demonstrated knowledge or experience in the management and delivery of road & bridge projects and related maintenance programs and waste services operations, pavement designs, spray seal designs and operations and storm water hydraulics in both urban and rural areas?

Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Infrastructure team. As Works Engineer, you will be required to undertake the planning, management and delivery of Council's capital, construction and maintenance works in the Young district of the Hilltops Council region, and to ensure that quality standards are achieved by the Works delivery team within set timeframes, within budget and in accordance with Work, Health & Safety Guidelines.

 

You will need to have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with a minimum five (5) years' relevant experience or undertaking study towards a Civil Engineering qualification with substantial Local Government or relevant experience. You must also be learned in the administrative and planning aspects of construction projects, including cost-estimating, budgeting, setting-out plans, the supervision of contracts and control of a day work force for construction & maintenance works, and managing delivery timeframes. On-site, you should be a flexible leader who can adapt to change, and take responsibility for your decisions, as you will be relied upon as the central point of contact for the crew at any given time.

CASUAL TOURISM OFFICER

(Casual role, as-needed, $29.34 - $32.50 per hour + superannuation + casual loading 25%)

  •  Do you have experience in tourism, marketing, communication, retail or events-management and are you looking for a role that utilises your existing knowledge of the Hilltops region and surrounding areas? 

  • Are you skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook products, social media platforms and content development? 
  • Are you open to flexible work commitments and able to provide excellent customer service and deal with challenging customer queries?

Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual with knowledge of the Hilltops region and surrounding areas and experience in providing excellent customer service on an as-needed basis.
 
This position is responsible for providing support to the Tourism and Events Manager and other staff within the team by assisting visitors, tourists and the general public with regards to tourism and general enquiries. They are also responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties as required. The Casual Tourism Officer will be required to work weekend and public holidays team during periods of high workload, when staff are on leave or for special projects.

Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals with knowledge and experience in Library and Information Services or an equivalent level of general customer service experience, to support the functioning of Council's libraries across the region.
 
Council are ideally looking to employ several staff to carry-out various library assistant roles, which will allow Council to continue its libary operations without disruption when staff are on leave, and also to allow the libraries to function on weekends.

SENIOR WORKS SUPERVISOR (Readvertised)

(Permanent, full-time 76-hour nine-day fortnight, $88k - $97k TRP + potential for market allowance of up to $10k p.a.)

Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Infrastructure team and provide high-level oversight of construction and maintenance works crews within the Young region of Hilltops Council, and, as Senior Works Supervisor, provide support to other Works Supervisors across Hilltops as needed.
 
As direct Supervisor of our Urban and Rural Site Supervisors and indirect supervisor to more than 50 staff, you will need to have exceptional leadership skills and communication skills to elevate those under your direction so that the unit and all teams work together to drive Council’s works programs.

You will need to have significant construction experience, both at an operations and supervisory level, but you must also be learned in the administrative and planning aspects of construction projects, including cost-estimating, budgeting, setting-out plans, and managing delivery timeframes.
