CASUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER
  • Casual, as-needed basis
  • $36.68 to $40.63 per hour INCLUSIVE of 25% casual loading, plus 9.5% superannuation​


Council are seeking an enthusiastic Customer Service Officer who, as the first and central point of contact for all transactions and information relating to Council’s assets and services, will provide high quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner when greeting and dealing with customers in person, on the telephone or through written and electronic correspondence.

A strong candidate for this role will have:

  • Excellent customer services skills with demonstrated experience in a similar position.
  • Sound administration and clerical experience including cash handing and reconciliation.
  • An ability to understand and identify customer needs and use appropriate strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated ability to deal with challenging customer queries.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
(DIRECTOR INFRASTRUCTURE)
  • Permanent, full-time
  • 70-hour, nine-day fortnight
  • $1,317.16 to $1,459.45 per week + 9.5% superannuation


Council are seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high level administrative support and corporate reporting to the Director and management team within the Infrastructure directorate. This diverse role offers a fantastic opportunity to introduce you to the local government sector or to broaden your existing knowledge.

You will be responsible for preparing and coordinating corporate reports, correspondence, documents and briefs/studies on a regular and ad-hoc basis and will need to be familiar working within a reporting system, electronic document management system and MS Office. A high level of attention to detail and proactive approach to anticipating the needs of the team is highly regarded. If successful, you will work in a fast paced office environment, requiring you to be adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks at once, while working with a high degree of autonomy.

This role also includes the day-to-day management of phone calls and emails on behalf of the Director, as well as managing calendar requests, scheduling of meetings and preparing correspondence material. You will work closely with the other EA’s within Council to support our Directors and leadership team to achieve strategic and operational objectives.

A strong candidate for this role will have:

  • Substantial experience in a similar role as a personal or executive assistant to a Director level of a major enterprise.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the capacity to work to deadlines, set priorities, follow-up stakeholders and convey an appropriate sense of urgency to matters at hand.
  • Excellent written skills, with the ability to develop complex reports and documents, accurately summarise and convey complex information.
  • Excellent verbal and influencing skills, with the ability to give clear briefings on issues.
  • Above average computer skills including demonstrated experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint, social media, and conferencing software with the ability to quickly learn new packages if required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including basic negotiations, conflict resolution, problem solving and influencing skills.
  • Well-developed approach to politically sensitive matters, with the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and confidentiality when dealing with all levels of political and community stakeholders.
  • Exposure to change management, public relations and communication principles and ideally experience supporting a change management process.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a team member when required.
  • Ability to be upwardly mobile to travel for council business with Director Infrastructure from time to time.
  • Current Class C driver’s license.

REVENUE ACCOUNTANT
(Fixed-term 9-months, full-time 70-hour nine-day fortnight)

Council is seeking a highly qualified and passionate individual to come onboard as our Revenue Accountant. In this role you will be a key member of Council’s Finance team, delivering effective revenue and rates processing services and quality customer service.

This position is responsible for all aspects of rating, water billing and debtors, including debt recovery and you will need to have an accounting degree or similar tertiary qualification combined with relevant experience and knowledge/understanding of AASBs. Knowledge of the LG ACT 1993 and current financial accounting and reporting practices would be highly regarded. To be successful, you must also have excellent communication and report writing skills, the ability to work in a team and a willingness to both take responsibility and delegate where necessary.

CASUAL POOL LIFEGUARDS
(Casual role for 2020-2021 season + superannuation + casual loading 25%)

  • Do you have previous experience working in a swimming pool environment?
  • Do you hold current Bronze Medallion; First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation (including Oxy-Viva) and Pool Lifeguard Certificates?

Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals to carry-out supervision of Council’s swimming pool centres located in Boorowa, Harden and Jugiong for the upcoming pool season. Our Harden and Boorowa pools open on 7 November and Jugiong opens on 21 November 2020.
 
In this position you will carry-out all duties associated with admissions, kiosk sales, stocktaking and entry/exit systems including turnstiles, coordinate programs and activities and handling enquiries from the general public, undertake regular routine maintenance including cleaning and checking, maintaining and recording water quality and temperature, attend to any emergency and /or accidents and enforce all pool rules as required.

This position is responsible for providing support to the Tourism and Events Manager and other staff within the team by assisting visitors, tourists and the general public with regards to tourism and general enquiries. They are also responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties as required. The Casual Tourism Officer will be required to work weekend and public holidays team during periods of high workload, when staff are on leave or for special projects.

SENIOR WORKS SUPERVISOR (Readvertised)

Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Infrastructure team and provide high-level oversight of construction and maintenance works crews within the Young region of Hilltops Council, and, as Senior Works Supervisor, provide support to other Works Supervisors across Hilltops as needed.
 
As direct Supervisor of our Urban and Rural Site Supervisors and indirect supervisor to more than 50 staff, you will need to have exceptional leadership skills and communication skills to elevate those under your direction so that the unit and all teams work together to drive Council’s works programs.

You will need to have significant construction experience, both at an operations and supervisory level, but you must also be learned in the administrative and planning aspects of construction projects, including cost-estimating, budgeting, setting-out plans, and managing delivery timeframes. On-site, you should be a flexible leader who can adapt to change, and take responsibility for your decisions, as you will be relied upon as the central point of contact for the crew at any given time.
